Crystals in the Workplace

I work in a very hectic office.
Our team is a mix of administrative, sales and technical people.

Some days, the office is like a battlefield.  We can get bombarded with angry technical support calls.
It's hard on everyone.

Sometimes customers can lose control when their computers break, and the things they say can be pretty vile.  Not too long ago, I was told by one who had lost his cool, that I should "slit my wrists and die in the corner."  That was a tough conversation that produced some really toxic energy that day. I am certain that it was, in big part, the crystals in that space, that helped to dispel the effects of the hatred that spewed from that man's mouth that day.

I have used crystals for years in my office to clear out these negative energies, and help to usher in new, positive experiences.  I have a stone in almost every space there, each placed in a particular place, for a specific purpose.

I regularly use Reiki to clear all of the stones that live there, as well as the entire office space.

Here's a virtual tour of the crystals I use for balancing the energy in my work space...

A large piece of raw citrine lives at the front desk. Everyone and everything that enters the office passes by this beautiful crystal.  I use it to attract abundance and wealth.

On or around almost every computer monitor on everyone's desk, there's a fluorite crystal. It's a soothing and protective stone, that I use to guard against the electromagnetic emanations from the computers, as well as for to help my employees absorb new ideas.

I use a smokey quartz in the tech support room.  I feel like it helps to absorb some of the negative energy that comes into that space, taking the emotionally draining stuff off of the people there.

I use tigers eye in the sales offices for helping us to achieve our goals and to bring the strength and motivation needed to succeed.

A beautiful green aventurine supports the energy in the executive office.  The aventurine helps to inspire good leadership qualities, and calm some of the intense pressure associated with operating the business.  I believe it helps me persevere at difficult times. Holding it in my hand for a while when the stress in the office is high, can calm me down and help me discover new approaches to solving problems.

There's one crystal I don't have yet, that I wish I did... A large quartz cluster.  I'm waiting for us to find each other.

While citrine, fluorite, smokey quartz, tiger's eye and green aventurine are always found in my office, on occasion, I bring in other stones for specific reasons.

Right now, I have a piece of Poppy Jasper on my desk.  I brought this stone in for some extra grounding I felt like I needed. Sometimes, I can start to get that feeling that I'm flying by the seat of my pants - poppy jasper helps bring me back down to earth, and into a more grounded frame of mind, from which some of my best work comes.

I also often address employee concerns with particular stones. When I see someone struggling with grasping new information for example, I will usually place an extra piece of fluorite on their desk, or another crystal that I feel guided to use.  I tell them what I'm doing and no one has ever objected. I've even had employees that have specifically requested that I provide them a special crystal to address particular concerns.

I can see where it'd be really easy for my employees to think I was a total nut job of a boss, and I'm honestly surprised sometimes at how well they do receive it.  I'm pretty sure though, that it's because they all know it works.  There's no doubt, crystal therapy has made my company more successful.

Guided Bonsai Meditation

Close your eyes and take a few deep, relaxing breaths.

Continue normal breathing, and with each inhale, visualize a bright white light entering the top of your head.

With each exhale, breath out the worries, stresses and pressures of the day.
Visualize that "dirty" stuff leaving you each time you breath out.
Allow the light to continually enter your crown, flowing through and washing out everything unnecessary.  The stream of light cleanses you entirely.

Allow the flow from above you to continue, as you visualize the dark, warm glow of the earth below you. Feel it's power pulsing beneath you. Now, feel it push through the bottom of your feet. The energy enters you and flows up through your body, warming you. With each breath, you pull more of this comforting and grounding light up through you.

Notice as the two energies converge.  Feel the iridescent light from the heavens mingle with the warm deep light of the earth. Notice as they become one complete energy inside of you.
That brilliant light flows through you.

In your mind's eyes, draw the most perfect bonsai tree. Visualize it's container, it's branches, it's leaves, and everything else around it.

The beautiful bright light of the sun shines down on the bonsai.

The rich and warm light of the earth, flows up through the bonsai.

Those perfect energies of the heavens and earth, the same ones that you feel entering you, also flow through your bonsai. They meet at the center of the bonsai container, next to your beautiful tree.

Visualize the energies as they interpenetrate one another, a perfect balance between heaven and earth.

Sit and absorb this healing, grounding and balancing light that pulsates in and all around you and your bonsai.

(After a few minutes)
Take several deep breaths and start to bring your awareness back to this moment.
When you are ready, open your eyes and reflect for a few minutes on the meditation.

Pyrite Suns (Dollars) - Radiating Golden Treasures

Known as Pyrite Dollars, Sun Dollars, or Miners Dollars, these suns formed 350 million years ago!

The crystal-fanned structure is due to compressed growth between sheets of shale.  At one time these were thought to be fossilized sand dollars or lily pads.  With restrictions in coal mining, and the depth of these suns being so deep (300'), new ones are rarely mined anymore.

Finding one in my favorite raw gem store in Dahlonega, GA was a nice surprise today, I must say!  I got a pretty good deal on this - it set me back all of $10.

This stone has a great energy.  I like the strong properties of pyrite (protection, confidence, strength to "conquer it all"), with the balancing and grounding energies of the shale.

It's a beautiful stone - I'm glad we found each other!

Plants have feelings too. Guidance for reading their auras and giving them Reiki.

Since the late 1800's, scientists have been proving what I have always known to be true - plants have feelings.  They perceive and react to emotional stimuli.

Through the use of polygraph machines attached to plants, scientists were able to show that plants exhibited stress when exposed to the sound of brine shrimp being killed.  The plants not exposed to the boiling of these tiny shrimp, showed no sign of distress. [1]

Other research has shown that plants react favorably to positive energy, such as talk, attention, attitude and affection. [2]

All of this research aside, this is just something I know to be true.  Plants and trees definitely have feelings. I believe they experience a range of emotions, possess a wealth of wisdom, and can perceive and react to energetic or emotional stimuli.

The energetic field around trees and plants can be seen as an aura. I've seen their auras naturally since I was little, but anyone can learn how.  Tree and plant auras are very easy to see, as compared to human auras. So, even if you never thought you could read an aura, you should give it a try.

To see a tree or plant aura:
-Start with a tree or plant that doesn't move in the wind. An indoor houseplant is best to start with.
-A plain background is best. A blue sky or wall. Picking a tree with a forest all around it, takes practice.
-Start by gazing about an inch above your plant. Just let your eyes stay there and your stare go blank.
-You will usually quickly see the energetic outline, or aura, of the plant. It is typically looks like a white or light blue cloud.
-The auras are usually from darker to lighter shades of blue. I sometimes see yellows and oranges.
-Trees are usually more complex in their auras, and they can extend many feet.

For trained energy workers, it is possible to work with these auras. There is healing that can take place here, both for the tree or plant, and for the practitioner.

For me, it is very grounding to do energy work in my garden, with my plants at work and home, or with the trees and forest.  Every day, I provide Reiki to each plant in my garden.

If you are a trained Reiki practitioner, you can easily provide your plants Reiki, by cupping their leaves in your hands, or over their roots. You can also give the seeds Reiki, and charge the water you give them with Reiki by running it over your hands.

With Reiki training, you can also look at the plant aura and send Reiki to it in general, or to any areas that you see that need it.

Even without specific training, anyone can, and should, talk to and love their plants. There is much healing to be had there - both for you, and your plants.

Post-Purge Possessions

I used to have things. Lots of things. My house was full of my possessions, and a lot of my time and money was spent maintaining all of my stuff.

But, when I turned 40, I went a little nuts, and I sold everything I owned.
I decided that I'd rather spend my resources on experiences and memories, as opposed to material things.

Since the purge, a few years ago, I have been careful to only take possession of a few very small things.  I have some those things on a shelf in my room...

~A ceramic owl- a gift from the kids.
~1 large container of bubbles - because everyone should have bubbles.
~1 travel-size container of bubbles - in case I need bubbles on the go!
~A tiny Chia Pet - still in the box, I guess I'm waiting for just the right time to plant this little man.
~A wooden thermometer that I found in the trash in Downtown Atlanta. Someone was throwing away this perfectly good thermometer, can you believe that?!
~A 4" high Hello Kitty doll. This may be mine or Rita's, I'm not sure.
~A metal case that says, "It's all about the shoes..."  A reminder of how well my wonderful friends know me.

Whole Earth Healing in Amsterdam

Vondelpark - Amsterdam

In this healing, I will be visualizing a Divine Light flowing over the entire earth, enveloping it in pure, healing love and light.

This is a healing I learned from a global healing network initiative from The International Center for Reiki Training. http://www.reiki.org/GlobalHealing/gwhole.html

The Center encourages the cooperation of Reiki practitioners for solving world problems. As, William Rand, the founder, describes so well in this excerpt,

"The essence of Reiki healing energy is love, peace, harmony, cooperation and trust, therefore, it contains the very qualities that are needed to solve the problems of the earth. The fact that Reiki can be learned quickly by anyone makes it a natural solution for the suffering now being experienced all around us. If Reiki is learned by enough people and those people work together to send Reiki to local and global problems those problems can be turned around and a condition of harmony and peace among the world's people will result."

Reiki

Reiki is a healing technique for restoring the energy balance in a patient. A practitioner serves as a channel for the flow of a life force energy, which activates the natural healing processes of the body to restore physical and emotional well-being.

The Degrees
One becomes a Reiki practitioner through an initiation (attunement) with a Reiki Master. A practitioner can advance through a series of degrees to eventually become a Reiki Master themselves. A Reiki I attunement opens the energy channel and teaches the student how to channel Reiki for self-care and for others, mainly on a physical level.
The Reiki Principles I
meditate on twice daily

After sufficient time has passed, the Reiki II degree provides additional training to open the student up to channeling more energy, as well as learning to send Reiki treatments to others at a distance. The Master degrees of Reiki, Inner Master and Reiki Master, open the student up for furthering personal development, as well as learning the techniques for teaching Reiki to others.

Regardless of the level of Reiki being practiced or received, the connection to this beautiful life force energy, has the power to transform our lives and our world, by balancing the mind, body and spirit.

My Journey
My first Reiki attunement
Since receiving my first Reiki attunement from Reiki Master, Mary Jahntz of Atlanta Healing Arts, I have shared Reiki with my family, friends and community, as well as practiced it daily in my life. I often give myself Reiki, as well as spend time each morning and evening meditating on the Reiki principles.

It took about a year of applying Reiki in my life for my own healing and self-improvement, before I felt prepared, or actually compelled, to seek out my Reiki II attunement. I will be receiving my Reiki II degree this month, once again through Atlanta Healing Arts. I am looking forward to advancing my practice and receiving the additional tools needed to work with other practitioners to heal negative situations and solve global problems.
