I used to have things. Lots of things. My house was full of my possessions, and a lot of my time and money was spent maintaining all of my stuff.
But, when I turned 40, I went a little nuts, and I sold everything I owned.
I decided that I'd rather spend my resources on experiences and memories, as opposed to material things.
Since the purge, a few years ago, I have been careful to only take possession of a few very small things. I have some those things on a shelf in my room...
~A ceramic owl- a gift from the kids.
~1 large container of bubbles - because everyone should have bubbles.
~1 travel-size container of bubbles - in case I need bubbles on the go!
~A tiny Chia Pet - still in the box, I guess I'm waiting for just the right time to plant this little man.
~A wooden thermometer that I found in the trash in Downtown Atlanta. Someone was throwing away this perfectly good thermometer, can you believe that?!
~A 4" high Hello Kitty doll. This may be mine or Rita's, I'm not sure.
~A metal case that says, "It's all about the shoes..." A reminder of how well my wonderful friends know me.
