Experience how it can feel to be a tree.

It's no big secret - I love trees!
Most people that know me, know that I talk to trees, hug them, talk about them and so on...
It's probably lesser-known though, that I actually become a tree sometimes. :)
I do.
Through meditation and movement.
I do it because it feels good!  It energizes me and makes me feel grounded and happier.  If you like trying new things and feeling more joy, maybe you could give it a shot. :)

Just in case, here's how I do it...

BECOMING A TREE THROUGH MEDITATION AND MOVEMENT:
First, I create a peaceful space, free of any interruptions. Incense and a candle are nice. If I'm inside, I usually play some nature sounds or music.  If I'm going to be moving while I meditate, then it's with chants or upbeat meditation type of stuff.  If not, I put on something more mellow.

I do this meditation for at least 15 minutes.  It leaves me feeling grounded, stronger, excited and just generally happy. I totally recommend it! :)

Whether you're meditating in one spot or are moving to music, the imagery I use goes like this..

Take several deep and relaxing breaths.
Once you're in a meditative state, begin your journey.

Your journey as a tree.

You are a beautiful tree.
You sprouted from the earth many years ago. Just a seedling then, growing towards the sky.
But, now you are majestic.
Time has made you stronger.
You are a gorgeous, healthy, happy tree.

Dance and enjoy being a tree.

Feel your roots. They extend into the depths of the soil beneath you, Mother Earth nourishing you continuously.

Feel how strong the trunk of your tree is. Feel the texture of your bark.

Feel your branches and leaves.  Feel yourself sprouting and blossoming - reaching for the sky, leaning towards the sun, and bending with the breeze.

Enjoy how it feels being this tree. Absorb the energy, merge with it. You are the tree.

After several minutes of being your tree, start to become aware of the space you are in. Sit here in a relaxed, meditative state and reflect on your journey.
