The Power of Disputing and Replacing

I want to talk about a technique I have used to successfully break patterns in my life that don't serve me well.

Disputing & Replacing

It's really quite simple, but the results can be very profound.

First, you name the counter-productive thought or behavior you're exhibiting. That may be the voice inside of you or your actions that are often later regrettable.

Actually, you don't just name it, you have to own it. Really own it.

Like right now - this is what I mean by owning it...

"I feel so stupid.  Like I'll never succeed."

Oh you shudder - ugh - how could I say that?!  Well, it's true.  I am naming and owning how my fear shows itself to me.
And that's just how I've conditioned myself in my head to think sometimes when I'm scared.  When I do that, I hug myself, because I know I'm human and it's ok.

Actually, what you just witnessed was me disputing and replacing the behavior...
"When I do that, I hug myself, because I know I'm human and it's ok."

That's how it's done. Name it, own it, dispute and replace it. Keep repeating that for what may seem sometimes like a million times a day...it'll break old patterns and replace them new healthy ones.

Namaste,
Katy
