Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This!

I recently visited the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Nassau, Bahamas and had the good fortune of attending a workshop on dreams. The instructor, Tzivia Gover, is a Certified Dream Therapist, Reiki Master, Author and probably a dozen other amazing things on top of that!

I had no idea when I walked into her workshop that she had all of these impressive titles under her belt, I just knew that she was a gentle and beautiful spirit, someone with whom I was immediately at ease.  Before class we chatted a bit - mostly about trees. How wonderful is that?!  She's a "tree person" too!

As we went through the class, I also discovered her to be very gifted at helping me to understand the importance of dreams and how to evaluate them.  She also gave us tips for better dreaming and actual tools for understanding what these stories were telling us.

She opened my eyes to so many things and I would say that the impact on my life has definitely been profound. An age-old issue I've been struggling to heal, was finally relieved through understanding a dream I had when I was a child.

It was like my psyche had locked away that dream back then, somehow divinely knowing that I would need that lesson some day. When Tzivia told us that a dream we still remember is probably significant, the mysteries of that old dream that used to scare me just started to reveal themselves.

I had gone on this trip with the intention of clearing some things deep inside of me that have lingered. A core of past pain that no amount of therapy, yoga or reiki would make a dent in.  Understanding that childhood dream was the key it took to free me of that persistent pain and I am incredibly grateful that Tzivia and I crossed paths that day!

I was also fortunate to be able to share some of this knowledge with my youngest son the other day.  We were in the car together on a weekend road trip and he asked me if I knew anything about dreams. I shared with him a few things I learned from the workshop.
And then I thanked my lucky stars again for having had this experience in Tzivia's class.
I keep learning new things about my life through my dreams. This is like the workshop that keeps workshopping!

I highly recommend getting in touch with your dreams. It could help you learn about yourself. And who knows, it could also give you and your kids something to talk about.

Sweet Dreams,
Katy :)
